Machine Shop Supervisor
Primary Function
Assist the Supervisor in the section daily operations as well as train new/existing staff
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure that the Daily Planned Maintenance is completed by the machinists
- Ensure tooling and inserts availability at all times by forward planning
- Plan machine loading and goal setting
- Report on machine loading to maximise utilisation of machines and manpower
- Approve withdrawal of materials/tools from his section
- Plan training for new/existing machinists to be rotated on different machines periodically
- Conduct employee counselling and training
- Conduct daily tool box meetings with team members to discuss daily work schedule, work specifications, health and safety issues and manpower scheduling
- Supervise daily housekeeping in the workplace
- Promote and supervise safe work practices
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments/sections to ensure continuity of work process
- Prepare and approve employee daily timesheet before submit to Admin to update on next immediate working day
- Supervise the maintenance of working tools and basic machine maintenance
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical diploma or degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Machine Shop including 2 years in supervisory role manufacturing oil and gas productsvAbility to read and interpret drawings
- Knowledge of CNC programming whilst not essential would be an advantage
- Knowledge of CNC Lathe Machines of the following will be preferable
- CNC - Vertical Boring Lathes
- CNC - Horizontal Boring Machines
- CNC - Vertical Machine Centres
- CNC - Hollow Spindles
- CNC - Lathe Slant Bed Type
- Fanuc control systems
- Proficient in English in reading, writing and spoken
- Computer Literate
